During our Cijin adventure last weekend, we discovered what seems to be quickly becoming a foreigner hotspot. Many have wondered when the foreigner market would infiltrate beachy, relaxed Cijin Island. Someone has finally done it (and done it well to boot). Seattlite Café & Crêperie is a great stop for any Cijin itinerary.

Atmosphere
E put it best when he said that Seattlite Café is what we would get if we turned our house into a restaurant. The energy is definitely relaxed. Most tables sit in front of a random assortment of couches. The staff seem friendly enough, but again, very relaxed. It’s a great place for a drink or dessert after a day at the beach, but probably not the best place to bring a date.

What to Eat
Dessert is king at Seattlite Café and Crêperie. Most of the menu is comprised of confections.

I must say the Nutella Crepe was fabulous. It rivals the crepes I have eaten in Paris and is surely better than anything I could make at home.

We also had a quiche which was well prepared and a slice of chocolate cake served with a dollop of sweet cream. These items were superb and very reasonably priced. I believe the most expensive was only $60NT. I doubt you can find dessert this good anywhere in the city, let alone for that price.

What to Drink
I’m torn as to whether the desserts or the drinks are the best part of Seattlite Café. Surely the drinks are some of the cheapest you will find in Kaohsiung. Most of the coffee beverages are $50NT, including the Baileys and coffee. The café also serves Costco brand craft beer for a mere $70NT per bottle. Whatever you choose, it’s sure to be enjoyable and a bargain.

Directions
By Scooter: Drive to Gushan Ferry Pier. Pay $35NT for 1 scooter and 1 passenger. Board the ferry to Cijin Island. When exiting the ferry, veer right. Turn left on the night market road. After you pass two temples, watch out for Lane 42. Turn left onto this road. Seattlite Café and Crêperie will be on your right after approximately 1 block.
